Pre-K Academy

During the school year, EDS operates a Pre-K Academy for four-year-old children in Dormont Elementary School. The Pre-K Academy is a half-day Pre-K Program that operates from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.   We also offer Pre-K Academy Extended Hours from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM for children enrolled in half-day Pre-K.   The curriculum is aligned with the Keystone Oaks Kindergarten curriculum.  Attending our preparatory program allows children to become comfortable in their new elementary school so they will have a seamless transition to their Kindergarten year.  Free and reduced tuition is available for qualifying families.  Please click below for details or call 412 221-1980 for additional information.

Before & After School Programs

During the school year, EDS is located in all three elementary buildings - Aiken, Dormont and Myrtle!  We operate in the morning from 7 AM until the beginning of the school day and after school until 6:00 PM.  We also offer full-day programs, including field trips, on district in-service days.  EDS accepts all ELRC funding.

Summer Camp

​During the summer months, EDS holds summer camp at Dormont Elementary School for children entering Kindergarten through sixth grade.  We operate weekdays from 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM throughout the summer months.  EDS accepts all ELRC funding.

 

Our Summer Camp includes:

  • Swim Trips

  • Field Trips

  • Workshops like ceramics, karate, and cooking

  • Indoor and Outdoor Sports

  • Hands-on, Interactive STEAM Projects

  • Social Emotional Learning (SEL) & Character Development

  • Building Challenges
